"Rah Rahs" Must Translate into Pulling The Lever or Pressing The Button on Election Day

We must make sure that all of the vocal support and excitement translates into people actually pulling the lever or pressing the button for Senator Obama. Unfortunately, we must keep it real and acknowledge that the fact that Senator Obama is an African American is a factor in this political campaign. I am speaking specifically of our European brothers and sisters who may on one level show outward and loud verbal support for Senator Obama and then when the rubber meets the road and it is time to actually cast the vote, they won't be able to bring themselves to actually vote for a black man. In other words, the reality and magnitude of what is happening kicks in.

I was watching Ted Koppel being interviewed by Charlie Rose and was happy to hear him bring up this same point. It could be the unseen surprise factor that could cause Senator Obama to lose the race even though on the surface it appears he is winning. I write this to bring this issue to the attention of Obama-Biden supporters around the country. We must do everything we can to ensure the authenticity of our supporters. Let's make sure we keep instilling in them that the lever or button being pressed or pulled for Senators Obama and Biden is what counts. Ted Koppel cited how Tom Bradley appeared to have had a large lead in his race for Governor of California and still not receive the necessary number of votes to win. Let's all be sure that does not happen to Senator Obama and Senator Biden.

To this I must state that Obama is NOT an African American. He is an American of mixed race. Just like Tiger Woods and half of the people who identify themselves as African American. I don't know about you, but I am just an American. Did you serve in the U.S. Air Force or the Air Force of some South African nation? You are an American and have probably never even been to Africa. If you have, two weeks does not make you in any way African.

As to your European counterparts. Are Europeans permitted to vote in the United States? Last I checked, NO!

The more I think about this, the more racist you appear. Why would you separate expectations of white people from that of people of color? People will vote their hearts regardless of race.

It is my hope that that people will indeed vote with their hearts; however I am not blind, dumb or stupid to the fact that that has not always been the case, and will most likely not be the case here. That is why the point is being brought up by folks such as Ted Koppel.

I'm sure an intelligent person such as yourself understands the difference between racist and prejudice and wouldn't make the mistake of using the terms interchangeably.

In terms of seperation, we've never had seperate expectations. That's what has been the issue throughout slavery and civil rights movement.

Yes, I stand corrected. We all have some form of prejudice within us, it is the act of allowing that prejudice to guide our decisions that would be racist.

pushing the level has been committed
but as usually the minority cleans up the mess. The way I see it Pres. now have to try to clean up Bush mess which is unfair but has to be done. I truly believe the McCain can not do the job. It will take a cleaner to put a dent in the situation which as usually the black do and has done in the past. Thank God other nationalitIES see that a change is a must and willing to take a chance. Let the clean up begin. It is not black or white it is the minority that is willing to roll up his/her sleeve to get down and dig deep. We are so use to this. We (minorities) don't mind hard work. It is part of our main frame. THANK GOD FOR AN OBAMA.
